We acted as lender’s counsel for the refinance of the largest hotel in Sint Maarten, the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort. Shortly before signing, hurricane Irma hit Sint Maarten in 2017, seriously damaging the hotel. The project was revitalised in the end of 2017 and the deal closed in 2018.
